LES PAVILLONS FRANCAIS

OBJECT EXTERIOR RESTORATION WORK

LOCATION RUE DU NOYER, 282 - 1030 SCHAERBEEK

PHASE IN RESTORATION

CLIENT LES ASSOCIATIONS DES COPROPRIETAIRES DE LA RESIDENCE

Built between 1931 and 1934 according to plans by Marcel Peeters, the residence Les Pavillons Français located in Schaerbeek, is presented as a stepped construction comprising a central block flanked by two lower wings. Over time, its interior and exterior aesthetic qualities, as well as techniques, have been preserved. Due to its materials such as concrete and steel and its Art Deco aesthetic, this residence visually imposes itself in the Brussels urban landscape and is an important witness to the social and urban changes of the first half of the 20th century, notably with the migration of wealthy social classes towards apartment buildings, near the urban center.

In 2018, Arter took over the restoration project, the permit of which had already been granted two years earlier. After a thorough update of the health diagnosis and the works, the works started in 2020.

The project includes the restoration of the facades and roofs, as well as the window and door joinery and will be finished in 2021.
