Project Métropole is an ambitious renovation and restoration project of the hotel bearing the same name, located at the iconic De Brouckère square. With its rich history and unique heritage elements, a fusion of Art Nouveau, Art Deco, and modern styles, this hotel is an iconic monument of 19th-century Europe.

After several years of vacancy, our mission is to restore this building to its former glory. This entails respecting its heritage while addressing contemporary challenges. As a gem of Brussels' heritage, it will reopen its doors in 2025, revitalizing the city center.

We aim to restore the building's original appearance. While the roof and cornice heights remain unchanged, the facade will be restored and refreshed. The current canopy, which marred the facade in recent decades, will be removed and replaced with a restoration of the historic model.

The project also includes the restoration of the classified rooms on the ground floor in belle epoque style, serving as common reception areas including the renowned Café Métropole, which will feature adapted furnishings and lighting. Similarly, recently classified Art Deco elements, including specially designed furniture for the hotel, will undergo careful restoration.

The interiors of the various buildings comprising the hotel will undergo complete renovation. The hotel will offer 267 rooms, designed in a contemporary style with a touch of Art Deco. Public spaces, including event halls and meeting rooms, will be redesigned to contemporary standards, prioritizing comfort and functionality. To meet modern expectations, the basement floor will feature a swimming pool, a wellness area, and a hammam.

Sustainability is central to the project, with measures such as making the building envelope energy-efficient and installing new technologies that meet modern standards. To improve water management and biodiversity in the densely built urban fabric, the project will install over 2000m² of green roof.

We aim to create a building that is not only functional and aesthetically appealing but also sustainable and future-proof. A project striving for the perfect balance between past and present.
