The new elementary school and nursery were designed around the concept of a treehouse.

All the supporting functions of the school (administration, refectory, gym, …) are on the ground floor, in between the tree trunks. Higher up, in the tree crown, the living spaces and classes can be found. The youngest children populate the strongest branches while the oldest kids are among the treetops.

By dividing the playground over two floors we made sure every classroom was as close to an exterior space as possible. Furthermore, it enabled us to create a variety of different atmospheres on the playground.
