OBJECT CONSTRUCTION OF A KINDERGARDEN AND APRIMARY SCHOOL
LOCATION FRASNES-LEZ-ANVAING - BELGIUM
PARTNERS MC CARRE - DTS
PHASE TENDER PROCESS
CLIENT MUNICIPALITY FRASNES-LEZ-ANVAING
Nestled within the Frasnes-Lez-Anvaing commune, the Verger School resides in Dergneau, a locale adorned with picturesque agricultural vistas and quaint residential abodes. Since its establishment in 2014, the school has operated within repurposed container structures, adjacent to the Village House of Dergneau, which serves as a communal hub.
Presently, the school’s footprint comprises container classrooms, embraced by a welcoming square that offers street-side parking. It fosters an ambiance ripe for scholastic exploration and communal interaction. This amalgamation, yet coexists within the expansive verdant surroundings, fostering an environment ripe for educational exploration and community engagement.
The Verger School's architectural vision is a testament to innovation and environmental stewardship. Inspired by the landscape's undulating contours, the design ethos echoes nature's embrace, fostering an immersive educational experience that transcends the classroom walls. The aim is to create an environment deeply connected to nature, fostering innovative pedagogical approaches. The architectural design emphasizes this connection by embracing the orchard surroundings, providing opportunities for outdoor learning, and delineating distinct spaces for kindergarten and primary education.
The proposed construction plan replaces the existing container classrooms, providing new facilities including classrooms, administrative offices, a cafeteria, and outdoor recreational spaces. The design allows for future expansion and ensures accessibility for all users.
Every element is meticulously crafted. Architectural interventions, including the incorporation of wood facades and organic forms, echo the tranquil beauty of the orchard landscape. By embracing the natural elements and architectural vernacular of the region, the project endeavors to forge a symbiotic relationship between built form and natural environment, enriching the experiential tapestry of the Verger School.
